Other than the incredibly sentimental conclusion of this moment/relationship at the end of Grant Morrison’s run on Doom Patrol, this is probably one of the best moments in the series.
Reads better in the comic itself of course.
All of his run is collected in trade paperbacks. It’s an imperfect series but one that is worth reading in its entirety with a really rewarding ending.
